The Indian batsman has stated that he would be available for Delhi’s upcoming game, which begins on January 30.

In preparation for his first Ranji Trophy participation since 2012, Virat Kohli will workout with the Delhi squad on Tuesday. After confirming last week that Kohli will be available for their last group match against Railways at the Arun Jaitley Stadium from January 30 to February 2, Delhi coach Sarandeep Singh stated that Kohli would be joining the team.

Due to a neck complaint, Kohli had opted out of Delhi’s last game. His involvement in this round follows the BCCI’s directives to contractual players, which included playing domestic cricket, in the wake of India’s 3-1 loss to Australia in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.

Images and videos of Kohli practicing with former India and RCB batting coach Sanjay Bangar at a Mumbai training facility have surfaced on social media in recent days.

Four days prior to India’s first ODI match against England in Nagpur on February 6, the last round of Ranji Trophy group matches will conclude. In the three-match bilateral series leading up to the Champions Trophy starting on February 19, Kohli is included in the ODI squad.

Rahul named in Karnataka squad

The Karnataka team has selected KL Rahul for their crucial Ranji Trophy matchup against the top-seeded Haryana in Bengaluru later this week. ESPNcricinfo has learned that the BCCI medical panel has cleared him after he missed the last match against Punjab due to an elbow niggle. He was included subject to fitness.

With Rahul back, Karnataka will be fully stocked, including Devdutt Padikkal and Prasidh Krishna, who both played in the Australian Test team.

Rahul hasn’t played for Karnataka in the top division in almost five years, since the 2019–20 semifinal matchup with Bengal at Eden Gardens in Kolkata.

Jadeja to play for Saurashtra

In the last match between Saurashtra and Assam in Rajkot, Ravindra Jadeja will also play. In the previous round, he had claimed ten wickets in Saurashtra’s victory against Delhi.

Riyan Parag, who recovered from a shoulder ailment and was deemed able to participate, will also play in the match. In the match against Saurashtra, he will lead Assam.

When Hyderabad plays Vidarbha in their group match, Mohammed Siraj will also play. By the way, Siraj last participated in a Ranji Trophy match in February 2020, against Vidarbha. Hyderabad is now in fourth position with two victories, two defeats, and two draws, while Vidarbha is currently leading Group B. In BGT 2024–25, Siraj recently participated in all five Test matches against Australia, bowling 157.1 overs, which was second only to Pat Cummins.

The team for Delhi’s next group matchup against Railways does not include Rishabh Pant. In the last game, Delhi lost by 10 wickets against Saurashtra, as Pant only managed one and seventeen.
